Here is the detailed application procedure and other details you need to know if you are actively looking for a job as soon as possible.

Age Limit: Between 18 to 27 years


Qualifications and Experience:

If you have completed your Graduation from a recognized university (Arts/Science and Commerce stream) you are eligible for this post. No experience is required, as there is no mention about it. 

However, there will be a "Skill Test" as well to be selected in this post. Here is the detail about the test:
1. Dictation: 10 Minutes, @80 words per minute
2. Transcription: 50 minutes in English, 65 minutes in Hindi (on a computer)

Dictation meaning

Application Fees: 100 Rupees only. 

But you need to pay it via a Demand Draft (DD). And the bank can charge a minimum amount to process your draft. It varies from bank to bank as well. So, directly go to the bank or the official website of the bank and explore yourself. 

Selection Procedure for the post:


1. A written examination will be held at Roorkee. The dates will be informed later, via mail/post/ and NIH website. You need to check it regularly. 

2. Written test for Stenographer post will be Bilingual. 

3. The question will be related to the trade/subject.

4. The questions will be of objective type and negative marks will be given for wrong answers.

5. Merit list will be prepared non the basis of the marks obtained in the written test.

6. If you obtain less than 50 percent in the written test, you won't be taken forward, So prepare carefully.

7. As mentioned earlier, for the post of Stenographer, in addition to the written post, you need to appear for the shorthand and typing test on Computer.

8. Once you appear on the merit list, you will receive the appointment letter.

*Do not apply to this post, if you don't have a Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized university. 

Application Procedure:

1. You need to visit the official website (http://nihroorkee.gov.in/) 

When I checked, the website was not opening. SO unable to provide the direct link to the Application Page.

2) You need to register on the site, then you will be able to fill-up the form.

3) Once done, download the form, for taking a printout.


4) Speed post the Hard Copy of the Printed application form, required documents, and the original Demand Draft. 

Note: once you fill in all the details, the DD (Demand Draft) section will appear and you need to fill in all the details.

Documents you may need to upload on the website:
1) 10th Pass mark sheet
2) Passport size photo (max. size 500KB)
3) Signature (100KB)

After final submits, you can't change any information, so be calm while filling up the form. 

Here is the Salary:
Rs. 25,500 to 81,100 (Pay Level in the Pay matrix is 4).

Last date for application: 30 Days after the publication of Notification on Employment News. 


So, do complete all the steps before, 31st December. It's safer, as the post office may take 1 or 2 days to deliver your parcel to the NIH office.
